This is a book of short stories and poems by Jan Thie based on the art of Lisa Snellings. It is a sort of a museum of Snellings' art, with plenty of photographs, while the text by Thie takes the reader to deeper places. There are plenty of title pages which slow the reader down; this is not a book you can rush through. It's a close to minimalistic approach, suggesting the reader contemplate these stories and their relationship to the art. This book certainly adds value to the work that Snellings creates, asking that we silly humans look beyond the surface of what is happening and see beyond to the stories behind the art, without forcing a single narrative.
